Michael T. Garrett was born in Lubbock, Texas on April 21, 1940. He was admitted to the New Mexico Bar in 1966 and the State Bar of Texas in 1965 and has been in full-time practice for forty years. He has also been admitted to the U. S. District Court for the District of New Mexico (Albuquerque, Las Cruces and Roswell), U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas (Amarillo and Lubbock), U.S. Court of Appeals, Tenth Circuit, and the U.S. Tax Court. His educational background is Texas Tech University, B.B.A., 1962; Southern Methodist University, J.D., 1965; and Harvard University, LL.M., 1966. Mr. Garrett is a member of the American Bar Association, New Mexico Bar Association, Texas Bar Association, New Mexico Defense Lawyers Association, New Mexico Trial Lawyers Association, and Texas Trial Lawyers Association.
